.gitignore now ignores .claude/, the directory where agent tooling keeps one checkout of the repo per agent at work. REPO_POLICIES.md asks for that directory in both .gitignore and .dockerignore; .dockerignore already had .claude, .gitignore had nothing.
The entry and its comment are copied word for word from the canonical .gitignore in sneak/prompts. The entry has no leading /, so it matches a .claude/ directory at any depth. This is correct for .gitignore and differs on purpose from the root-only .claude in .dockerignore, as REPO_POLICIES.md says.
Judgement call: the block sits after the editors section, in the same place the canonical file has it.
No test: the plan asks for none, and nothing in the build or the tests reads .gitignore.

REPO_POLICIES.md says in-repo agent scratch belongs in both .gitignore and
.dockerignore. .dockerignore already has .claude; .gitignore now has the
.claude/ entry and its comment exactly as the canonical .gitignore in
sneak/prompts has them, unanchored so it matches at every depth.
