Alt and a digit in neoirc-cli now runs /window with that digit, through the same input handler as a typed line. Before, the key only switched the window, so typed text still went to the channel or user of the window the user had left.

/window 0 now clears the send target. The status window has no target, but the command kept the previous one, so routing the key through it alone would not have fixed Alt and 0.

The new test calls the key handler directly, not through the running event loop. In the running client the key still makes it stop responding, as does any key or typed line that updates the screen. That is #223, filed from this work.

  • Judgement call: /window 0 typed by hand changes too, since the key goes through it.
  • Alt and a digit now also redraws the status bar as /window does, which always labels the client connected.
  • README.md does not describe window switching in neoirc-cli, so it is unchanged.

In neoirc-cli, Alt and a digit switched the window but kept the send
target, so typed text went to the window the user had left. The key
now runs /window with that digit through the input handler.

/window 0 now clears the send target. The status window has no target,
but the command used to keep the previous one.

PASS: Alt and a digit now makes the shown window's channel or user the send target, and Alt and 0 leaves no target.

  • Judgement call: before /connect, Alt and 0 now labels the status bar connected, as typing /window 0 already did. I counted that as an old fault reached by another path, not a new one.
