upaas reads UPAAS_PORT before PORT. docker-compose.yml only set PORT: "8080", so a UPAAS_PORT line in .env made upaas listen on a port other than 8080, which is the port the compose file's port mapping and healthcheck use, and the container never became healthy.
docker-compose.yml: sets UPAAS_PORT: "8080" next to PORT: "8080". The comment above them now says both override .env and that both are needed because upaas reads UPAAS_PORT first.
README.md, "Deploying with Docker Compose": the sentence listing the settings the compose file fixes now names PORT, UPAAS_PORT and UPAAS_DATA_DIR. make fmt rewrapped the rest of that paragraph.
