clawbot 679c80700f Report the build's own error and refuse daemons too old for BuildKit (closes #234)
Check / check (pull_request) Successful in 4m23s
A build whose output ends in Docker's error line now fails with that
error, instead of going on to inspect a tag that was never created. The
build output is written to the deployment log before the failure is
recorded, so the log ends in order. Before building, upaas compares the
daemon's API version with 1.39 (Docker Engine 18.09), the first that
builds with BuildKit without experimental mode, and fails the deploy on
an older daemon instead of letting it use the legacy builder. The
README's Compose section gives the update command and the Docker Engine
versions builds need.
Disclosure: merged after a rebase that changed only TODO.md; the review gated this tree on the current next.

clawbot a48d90f5ea Stamp the git commit into images built from the Dockerfile (closes #236)
Check / check (pull_request) Successful in 3m31s
.dockerignore left out .git, so `make build` in the image found no git
metadata and stamped `dev`. It now sends .git, and no longer leaves out
tracked files (LICENSE, README.md, ...), which git would see as deleted
and mark the version -dirty. The footer and /health already read the
same version. The startup log line that reports it, the logger's
Identify(), was never called; main now calls it. The README says to
build from a git clone.
Side effect: image layers after `COPY . .` now rebuild whenever `.git` changes.
Disclosure: merged after a rebase that changed only TODO.md; the second review gated this same tree on this base.

clawbot 0a94484795 Set UPAAS_PORT as well as PORT in docker-compose.yml (closes #230)
Check / check (pull_request) Successful in 5m13s
upaas reads UPAAS_PORT before PORT, so a UPAAS_PORT line in .env made it
listen on another port than the one the compose file's port mapping and
healthcheck use, and the container never became healthy. The compose file
now sets both to 8080, and its comment and the README's Docker Compose
section say that both are set.

clawbot 884abf8512 List every setting upaas reads in the README Configuration table (closes #229)
Check / check (pull_request) Successful in 4m1s
The table left out UPAAS_MAINTENANCE_MODE, UPAAS_SESSION_SECRET and
UPAAS_CORS_ORIGINS, and several rows gave the wrong default or effect.
Each row now matches internal/config/config.go and the code that uses
the value: UPAAS_PORT is also read and wins over PORT, UPAAS_DATA_DIR
must be absolute for deploys unless UPAAS_HOST_DATA_DIR is set,
UPAAS_HOST_DATA_DIR falls back to UPAAS_DATA_DIR and must be absolute
when set, UPAAS_DEBUG also drops the session cookie's Secure flag,
UPAAS_SENTRY_DSN is not used, and /metrics exists only when
UPAAS_METRICS_USERNAME is set. A sentence under the table names the
standard Docker client variables. TODO.md records the step.

clawbot 194390b61f Merge next into main: UPAAS_ setting names in the README (#228)
Check / check (push) Successful in 7s
On `next`: the README's Configuration table now names the settings upaas actually reads, `UPAAS_DEBUG`, `UPAAS_SENTRY_DSN`, `UPAAS_METRICS_USERNAME` and `UPAAS_METRICS_PASSWORD`, instead of the unprefixed names it ignores (#224). Docs only; no code changes.

For deploying: nothing changes. Anyone who set `DEBUG`, `SENTRY_DSN` or `METRICS_USERNAME`/`METRICS_PASSWORD` as the old table said got no effect and needs the `UPAAS_` names.

The table still leaves out `UPAAS_MAINTENANCE_MODE`, `UPAAS_SESSION_SECRET` and `UPAAS_CORS_ORIGINS`, which upaas also reads.

clawbot 7319cf4158 Add docker-compose.yml for deploying upaas (closes #223)
Check / check (pull_request) Successful in 3m19s
The compose file builds the image from this repo, mounts the Docker
socket and HOST_DATA_DIR (passed to upaas as UPAAS_HOST_DATA_DIR),
reads settings from .env, and restarts unless stopped. The port is
published on 127.0.0.1 only, for a TLS-terminating proxy in front.
PORT and UPAAS_DATA_DIR are pinned so .env cannot move upaas off the
port mapping, the healthcheck (busybox wget) or the data mount.

upaas now refuses to start when UPAAS_HOST_DATA_DIR is set to a
relative path; when unset it still falls back to the data directory.

The README's plain-HTTP Compose example becomes a short deploy section
that points at the file. .env is added to .dockerignore.

clawbot a57efeed12 Build apps with BuildKit so build stages stop piling up (closes #220)
Check / check (pull_request) Successful in 3m24s
Multi-stage app builds left an untagged image for every build stage after each deploy, and nothing could safely remove them. upaas now asks Docker for a BuildKit build, which keeps stages in Docker's build cache instead of as images; Docker limits and cleans that cache itself. The final image is still tagged `upaas-<app>:<N>`, so old-image cleanup is unchanged. BuildKit's progress messages are decoded and written to the deployment log as plain text.

Deviation: adds `github.com/moby/buildkit` v0.16.0 (matching the pinned Docker client), added with `go get` since no make target adds dependencies.
Judgement call: the cache limit is on by default only from Docker Engine 28.2; older engines need the `daemon.json` setting the README now names.

clawbot 1d769834de Vendor pinned prettier/format toolchain from prompts scaffold (closes #203)
Check / check (pull_request) Successful in 3m15s
script/fmt ran unpinned npx prettier with an inline --tab-width and no config, so formatting was not reproducible. This vendors the canonical format toolchain from the prompts scaffold: .prettierrc (tabWidth 4, proseWrap always), package.json and yarn.lock pinning prettier 3.8.1, and a script/bootstrap that installs node/yarn from a hash-verified nvm archive. script/fmt now reads the config over static/js and markdown; gofmt/goimports unchanged. .prettierignore keeps the *.min.js rule protecting the vendored alpine.min.js. Existing markdown was reflowed to house style.

Disclosure: make check does not gate prettier; the linter's pre-existing gomodguard deprecation warning is unrelated and left as-is.

- CSRF over plain HTTP (#189): gorilla/csrf assumed https for its
same-origin check, so setup and every POST returned 403 over plain
  HTTP. Gate csrf.PlaintextHTTPRequest on a new UPAAS_PLAINTEXT_HTTP
config value; the default keeps https, correct for a TLS-terminating
reverse proxy. The README plain-HTTP recipe now sets it.
- git image never pulled (#190): ensureImage pulls alpine/git (pinned
digest unchanged) when absent, before the clone container is created.
- port-mapping 500 (#192): the ports delete form used {{ .CSRFField }}
inside {{range .Ports}}, where the dot is a *models.Port; use
{{ $.CSRFField }} like the labels and volumes blocks.
- env-var 403 (#191): the editor read the CSRF token from $el (the
submitting form, which has none) instead of $root, sending an empty
  token; read from $root.

clawbotanduser 57ec4331ef feat: add GitHub and GitLab webhook support (#170)
Check / check (push) Successful in 3m17s
## Summary

Adds GitHub and GitLab push webhook support alongside the existing Gitea support.

closes #68

## What Changed

### Auto-detection of webhook source

The webhook handler now auto-detects which platform sent the webhook by examining HTTP headers:
- **Gitea**: `X-Gitea-Event`
- **GitHub**: `X-GitHub-Event`
- **GitLab**: `X-Gitlab-Event`

Existing Gitea webhooks continue to work unchanged. Unknown sources fall back to Gitea format for backward compatibility.

### Normalized push event

All three payload formats are parsed into a unified `PushEvent` struct containing:
- Source platform, ref, branch, commit SHA
- Repository name, clone URL, HTML URL
- Commit URL (with per-platform fallback logic)
- Pusher username/name

### New files

- **`internal/service/webhook/payloads.go`**: Source-specific payload structs (`GiteaPushPayload`, `GitHubPushPayload`, `GitLabPushPayload`), `ParsePushPayload()` dispatcher, per-platform parsers, branch extraction, and commit URL extraction functions.

### Modified files

- **`internal/service/webhook/types.go`**: Added `Source` type (gitea/github/gitlab/unknown), `DetectWebhookSource()`, `DetectEventType()`, and `PushEvent` normalized type. Moved `GiteaPushPayload` to payloads.go.
- **`internal/service/webhook/webhook.go`**: `HandleWebhook` now accepts a `Source` parameter and uses `ParsePushPayload()` for unified parsing instead of directly unmarshaling Gitea payloads.
- **`internal/handlers/webhook.go`**: Calls `DetectWebhookSource()` and `DetectEventType()` to auto-detect the platform before delegating to the webhook service.
- **`internal/service/webhook/webhook_test.go`**: Comprehensive tests for source detection, event type extraction, payload parsing (all 3 platforms), commit URL fallback paths, and integration tests through `HandleWebhook` for GitHub and GitLab sources.
- **`README.md`**: Updated description, features, non-goals, and architecture to reflect multi-platform webhook support.

## Test coverage

Webhook package: **96.9%** statement coverage. Tests cover:
- `DetectWebhookSource` with all header combinations and precedence
- `DetectEventType` for each platform
- `ParsePushPayload` for Gitea, GitHub, GitLab, unknown source, invalid JSON, empty payloads
- Commit URL extraction fallback paths for GitHub and GitLab
- Direct struct deserialization for all three payload types
- Full `HandleWebhook` integration tests with GitHub and GitLab sources

clawbotanduser 67361419f5 feat: CPU/memory resource limits per app (#165)
Check / check (push) Successful in 5s
## Summary

Adds configurable Docker CPU and memory resource constraints per app, closes #72.

## Changes

### Database
- Migration `007_add_resource_limits.sql`: adds `cpu_limit` (REAL, nullable) and `memory_limit` (INTEGER in bytes, nullable) columns to the `apps` table

### Model (`internal/models/app.go`)
- Added `CPULimit` (`sql.NullFloat64`) and `MemoryLimit` (`sql.NullInt64`) fields to `App` struct
- Updated insert, update, scan, and column list to include the new fields

### Docker Client (`internal/docker/client.go`)
- Added `CPULimit` (float64, CPU cores) and `MemoryLimit` (int64, bytes) to `CreateContainerOptions`
- Added `cpuLimitToNanoCPUs()` conversion helper and `buildResources()` to construct `container.Resources`
- Extracted `buildEnvSlice()` and `buildMounts()` helpers from `CreateContainer` for cleaner code
- Resource limits are passed to Docker's `HostConfig.Resources` (NanoCPUs / Memory)

### Deploy Service (`internal/service/deploy/deploy.go`)
- `buildContainerOptions` reads `CPULimit` and `MemoryLimit` from the app and passes them to `CreateContainerOptions`

### Handlers (`internal/handlers/app.go`)
- `HandleAppUpdate` reads and validates `cpu_limit` and `memory_limit` form fields
- Added `parseOptionalFloat64()` for CPU limit parsing (positive float or empty)
- Added `parseOptionalMemoryBytes()` for memory parsing with unit suffixes (k/m/g) or plain bytes
- Added `optionalNullString()` and `applyResourceLimits()` helpers to keep cyclomatic complexity in check

### Templates
- `app_edit.html`: Added "Resource Limits" section with CPU limit (cores) and memory limit (with unit suffix) fields
- `templates.go`: Added `formatMemoryBytes` template function for display (converts bytes → human-readable like `256m`, `1g`)

### Tests
- `internal/docker/resource_limits_test.go`: Tests for `cpuLimitToNanoCPUs` conversion
- `internal/handlers/resource_limits_test.go`: Tests for `parseOptionalFloat64` and `parseOptionalMemoryBytes` (happy paths, edge cases, validation)
- `internal/models/models_test.go`: Tests for App model resource limit persistence (save/load, null defaults, clearing)
- `internal/service/deploy/deploy_container_test.go`: Tests for container options with/without resource limits
- `templates/templates_test.go`: Tests for `formatMemoryBytes` formatting

### README
- Added "CPU and memory resource limits per app" to Features list

## Behavior

- **CPU limit**: Specified in cores (e.g. `0.5` = half a core, `2` = two cores). Converted to Docker NanoCPUs internally.
- **Memory limit**: Accepts plain bytes or suffixed values (`256m`, `1g`, `512k`). Stored as bytes in the database.
- Both fields are **optional** — empty/unset means unlimited (no Docker constraint applied).
- Limits are applied on every container creation: new deploys, rollbacks, and restarts that recreate the container.
