clawbot	9f46ee74f6	Start test servers on a port the system picks (closes #211) ... The internal/server and internal/ircserver tests picked a port by opening a listener, reading its port and closing it. They then started a server on that number. Another process could take the port in between, and a test failed with "address already in use". The IRC server tests now start the server on 127.0.0.1:0 and read the port back from its listener. The HTTP server tests start the app with port 0. The stop test cannot read that port, so it serves the same HTTP server on a listener it opened and keeps open. Only test files change. clawbot	d444831f41	Keep each test database when the pool replaces its connection (closes #209) ... SQLite deletes a shared in-memory database when its last connection closes. A query cancelled while it runs makes the pool close its connection, so a test could lose all its tables and rows at random. The new package internal/dbtest has NewURL. It returns the URL of a new in-memory database with a random name and holds one connection to it open until the test ends. The db, handlers, ircserver, server and service tests take their database URL from it. The test-support lint rule keeps the package out of the server binary. A new test cancels a query on such a database, checks with a TEMP table that the connection was replaced, and checks that a row is still there. Model: opus-5-5	2026-10-27 12:26:48 +01:00
clawbot	bbdf3a70af	Fail startup when the HTTP listener cannot bind (closes #167) ... The HTTP server ran ListenAndServe in a goroutine, so a failed bind was only logged and neoircd kept running without its HTTP API. The start hook now binds the listen address and returns the bind error, so neoircd exits 1 with an error naming the address. If serving the bound listener later ends with anything other than a normal shutdown, the server stops the app through fx.Shutdowner with exit code 1; the handler tests now pass it that Shutdowner. Tests check that a taken port fails startup, that a serve failure stops the app with exit code 1, and that a normal stop does not. The server tests no longer run in parallel: building the app writes the global viper instance. Model: opus-5-5	2026-10-21 01:14:24 +02:00
clawbot	497514d3df	Wait for IRC listener cleanup and HTTP shutdown on stop (closes #159) ... Stopping the server returned before the IRC listener's connections had run their cleanup, and the database closed under them, so their sessions, clients and channel memberships stayed and their nicks stayed taken after a restart. The IRC listener's stop now waits up to five seconds for every connection's cleanup, which now runs on a context that stopping does not cancel. The HTTP server's stop hook now runs Shutdown itself and waits for it; httpServer is set before serving starts, and the server's own signal watcher, which raced fx's stop hooks, is gone.
