check / check (push) Waiting to run
FORMAT.md moves to docs/ and every reference follows; its two relative links to mfer/mf.proto now point up one directory, its text is otherwise unchanged. contrib/usage.sh moves to bin/, not docs/: it is a script you run (it builds mfer, then generates and checks a manifest of the repo), not reading material. Both scripts now use #!/usr/bin/env bash, set -euo pipefail and a main function. bin/gitrev.sh still exits non-zero outside a git checkout, so the Makefile still falls back to unknown. .gitignore now ignores only the built bin/mfer rather than all of bin/, which holds tracked scripts. Agent Instructions
Read REPO_POLICIES.md before making any changes. It is the authoritative
source for coding standards, formatting, linting, and workflow rules.
Workflow
-
When fixing a bug, write a failing test FIRST. Only after the test fails, write the code to fix the bug. Then ensure the test passes. Leave the test in place and commit it with the bugfix. Don't run shell commands to test bugfixes or reproduce bugs. Write tests!
-
After each change, run
make fmt, thenmake test, thenmake lint. Fix any failures before committing. -
After each change, commit only the files you've changed. Push after committing.
Attribution
- Never mention Claude, Anthropic, or any AI/LLM tooling in commit messages. Do not use attribution.
Repository-Specific Notes
- This is a Go library + CLI tool for generating
.mfmanifest files. - The proto definition is in
mfer/mf.proto; generated.pb.gofiles are committed (required forgo getcompatibility). - The format specification is in
docs/FORMAT.md. - Open work, open design questions included, is tracked only in the repo's
issues: https://git.eeqj.de/sneak/mfer/issues. There is no
TODO.mdand no TODO list inREADME.md; do not add either. For this repo this overrides theREPO_POLICIES.mdrule to put the todo list in the README, per sneak's ruling: #76 (comment).
