Since about 18:00 UTC on 4 October, Gitea's check job fails on every push in about two seconds, before script/cibuild runs: the shared runner's cached copy of actions/checkout at the pinned commit 11bd71901bbe5b1630ceea73d27597364c9af683 lacks its dist/index.js ("Cannot find module …/dist/index.js" in the checkout step). Every repo pinned at that commit fails the same way, so the fault is in the runner's cache, not in this repo's code.
The runner keeps its copy of an action per pinned commit, so pinning actions/checkout at another commit makes it fetch a fresh copy.
What to do
Pin actions/checkout in .gitea/workflows/check.yml at the commit of its newest release, by full commit hash, with the comment giving the release and its date, as REPO_POLICIES.md requires. Check the hash against the release on the action's own repository.
Nothing else in the workflow changes.

PR: #64 pins actions/checkout at v7.0.1; its check job still fails at checkout because the runner host fsn1app1 is out of disk ("no space left on device"), which is also what broke the old pin.

Closing this and #64 unmerged: the cause is not the runner's copy of the pinned action. The runner fsn1app1 has no space left on its disk, so it cannot copy any action, old pin or new, and a change in this repo cannot fix it. The runner's disk has to be cleared; that is outside this repo.
