- Replace .golangci.yml with the canonical strict config (all linters
enabled except the standard disable list; lll 88, funlen 80/50,
cyclop 15, dupl 100; test files now linted)
- Pin the Dockerfile lint stage to golangci/golangci-lint:v2.12.2 by
tag and digest (Debian-based)
- Fix all ~1550 findings surfaced by the new config: line wrapping,
wsl_v5/nlreturn blank lines, noinlineerr splits, err113 sentinel
errors, perfsprint/modernize rewrites, goconst constants, thelper,
testifylint, noctx CommandContext, testpackage conversions,
t.Parallel() where safe, and complexity/dupl helper extraction
- Record the change and follow-up items in TODO.md
Change NewCLIInstance() and NewCLIInstanceWithFs() to return
(*Instance, error) instead of panicking on DetermineStateDir failure.
Callers in RunE contexts propagate the error. Callers in command
construction (for shell completion) use log.Fatalf. Test callers
use t.Fatalf.
Addresses review feedback on PR #18.
Add blank lines before return statements in all files to satisfy
the nlreturn linter. This improves code readability by providing
visual separation before return statements.
Changes made across 24 files:
- internal/cli/*.go
- internal/secret/*.go
- internal/vault/*.go
- pkg/agehd/agehd.go
- pkg/bip85/bip85.go
All 143 nlreturn issues have been resolved.
Break long lines in function signatures and strings to comply with
77 character preference by using multi-line formatting and extracting
variables where appropriate.
- Convert for loops to use Go 1.22+ integer ranges in generate.go and helpers.go
- Disable G101 false positives for test vectors and environment variable names
- Add file-level gosec disable for bip85_test.go containing BIP85 test vectors
- Add targeted nolint comments for legitimate test data and constants
